My cats are playing dead.

Poor guys. They don't understand the xtreme heat. Especially since they're indoor cats, they must just think I'm playing some mean trick on them by turning the heat way up. I put some ice cubes in their water bowl and have been periodically wetting them down. That makes them more mad but I like to feel like it helps.

Stitchalishious

What do you do for the dad who has everything? Stitch him a card!

P.S.
Frames make everything look better, even 3 dollar Rite Aid frames.

I've rediscovered my craftasticness

This has been a productive few days for me. My main project is this double pointed needle case...

I hand stitched it from a few quilt squares I got at Joanns.

The most annoying part was putting on buttons for the top flap that keeps the needles in place. Elastic is fun to knit with but can be a real bitch for sewing.

All in all, I'm pretty happy with the results. Now I just need to knit more and have a reason to buy enough double pointed needles to fill my case!

Yum.

This is what I eat every time Luke is out of town, in part because I love it and in part because it's one of the few things I know how to make. The only thing that varies is the sauce and sometimes I add cauliflower.

Vicotin makes me reminiscent

Luke's at the Liars show right now and I decided that since I don't work tommorow and today has been a strange mix of fun hanging out and bad stressfull house news that I should take a vicotin and watch queer as folk and f-ing relax for a while. I think this was a good decision. My two typical side effects to this drug have arisen though : mild munchies (I plan to eat some chips and salsa any minute now) and extreme reminiscing during my cigarette breaks from the wonderful plot filled gay porn. Here is my most recent mixed emotion ponder... our impromptu 'dress up and attempt darren's dance grooves' day at the windsor ct house.

It's moments like these that make me miss the kind of crazy fun and drunkenness that comes with having a bunch of insane roommates. Now one's preggers, another's in a relationship that I'm increasingly wary of and the other is pretty much the same except for the positive addition of school responsibilities. Damn that house was wacky and awful and awesome, all in the space of eight short months. It's wierd to think that I may never have roommates again. Nice in a lot of ways, but there's a lot to reminisce about.

My life is so exciting

When I'm not working or going through buying-a-house stuff, these are two of the most exciting things I've got going right now. My orange socks (or possibly legwarmers, depending on the gauge) and my Bobby Kennedy book. The socks are fun but intimidating still; we'll see how they work out. The Bobby Kennedy book is fascinating. The author is pretty straightforward about a lot of things (the mob ties, McCarthy connections, plots to assasinate Castro) but he doesn't think that the Kennedys had anything to do with Marylin's death. I still think they had Sam Giancanna kill her because she knew too much and was becoming too unpredictable. I mean, hell, who doesn't like a good conspiracy theory?
