Givin' thanx

Sorry about the cliffhanger with the banana bread... it turned out rather nicely. A bit soft in the middle even though I did the toothpick test but whatever.
The last two days were filled with high adventure on the open road with Hardcori, crafting with my sister, chillin' with my nephews, 32 thanksgiving day guests and good grub at my parent's house, card playin' with Luke's parents, hanging out with Luke's parents, Raves and some extended family and topped off with Greek cuisine in downtown Portland. Goodness gracious. If I see any more family in the next few days, I might explode. It was fun and eventful and crazy, like a holiday should be.

I'm making banana bread right now for the first time ever. Yay for cooking. Fingers crossed it turns out okay and the smoke detector doesn't go off as it usually does whenever I use my oven!

Rain sux

I've decided that I'm mildly depressed, a fact that is not helped at all by the mass amounts of rain pouring on this fine city or by my urge to do nothing but watch the Sopranos on such rainy days. I got off the max today on my way home from a very short day at work (not surprisingly no one wanted to walk around the zoo very much today) and planned on getting sushi at the new location right off my max stop. The sushi place sadly was closed until 5 so instead of going to wait for the bus I decided to get some Trader Joes sushi and be happy about saving money. Then, since it was not raining for the first time in 3 or 4 days I decided to walk the rest of the way home. It was a decent walk (the bus ride takes 15 minutes or so) and it was so nice. I think it makes me sad in the fall and winter that it's no longer fun to ride your bike or walk around. I hate driving and bussing all the time. So much is to be said about fresh air. Plus, I hate that it's getting dark at f-ing 4 in the afternoon. Oh well, I guess seasonal depression is better than year long.

Posting for posting's sake

I haven;t posted anything in a while, so here's my post for posts sake. Halloween was good times check out hardcori's blog for pictures). My work has slowed due too xtreme cold weather and now it's raining kittens and puppies so now it'll be even slower. I'm looking forward to the monotany.
Today Luke and I bought a rain barrell. It's pretty awesome but I think it'll fill in rocket fast time so we'll have to figure out the logistics. I also applied to renew my passport at some place on 82nd, so keep your fingers crossed that my identity is not stolen and sold to some Irish illegal immigrant or something. That would be lame.
Okay, that's all for now. We're making curry and going to watch some Firefly (best other Joss Whedon show ever!). Cheers!
